Delve deep into the visions of opera vocalist Agrathas spiritual nightmares, where suffering and madness gets comforted by the calm hand of the dark expanding universe, this is Vocal Ambient. Halgrath is easiest described as Dark Ritual Ambient. With her hypnotic incantations reverberating through heavy textures the atmosphere is oozing with quality of production.
Out of Time weaves a tale of souls lost in limbo, grasping to get back to reality, when their only outcome is to be discarded and shattered into pieces in the deep pits of non existance.
“Out of Time remains mostly a successful release inasmuch as the tracks, if taken on their own, are professional and emotional creations which leak intended threat, despair and vindictiveness. There’s a lot of character to most numbers on this album, indeed sometimes too much, a lot of entities jostling for attention in one place, playing high cards rather than letting us be drawn in by their subtleties and mysteries. However, it’s an impressive introduction to showing what Agratha Mirrait is capable of, and if we see Out of Time as a veritable museum displaying Halgrath’s sonic installations for us to wonder round and examine close-up at our leisure, it’s a very absorbing and well-spent visit.”
